Gallán is a standing stone in County Cork, Ireland. The subrectangular rock rises 1.3m within a north-south field fence, its long axis leaning northeast to southwest across rolling pasture. It resisted capture on both the 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps, suggesting human hands or deliberate forgetting kept it hidden from official vision. People may have walked past it without marking it, or the land itself may have swallowed its shadow. Either way, Gallán still stands where measurement failed, preserving the exact moment mapping stopped seeing.
