What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone in County Cork, marked on the 1937 map but absent from earlier surveys, and it has vanished without visible trace. The stone may have stood for centuries before disappearing, perhaps buried, broken, or taken during roadside works. Its sudden erasure reminds us that many ancient markers resisted mapping, hiding in plain sight until even memory faded.
