What is recorded here

Gallán is a roughly square standing stone, one and a half metres tall, set in the northeast quadrant of a ringfort in County Cork. It resisted the surveyors who drew the area in 1842, disappearing from their maps while remaining visible to anyone walking the grass. The fort likely hosted people who marked time, loved others or faced losses, using the stone as a permanent witness against forgetting.
