What is recorded here

Gallán was a small standing stone in level Cork pasture, hidden from official maps and guarded by old people who would not allow it to be interfered with. It may have been the two-foot stone on John Keeffe's land, witnessed across generations before local hands buried it in a nearby quarry around 1985. Its disappearance turns the familiar field into a place where human memory refused to be measured, marked or forgotten.

Not marked on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In level pasture. According to local information, removed c. 1985 and buried in nearby quarry to N with two other standing stones (10065, 10066). Possibly stone referred to by Broker (1937, 31) on John Keeffe's land - '2ft high and 3ft girth; old people would not allow it to be interfered with'.
