What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone in County Cork, absent from the 1842 and 1904 maps but marked in 1938 before disappearing without a surface trace. It may have stood as a boundary, a memorial or a local landmark, yet even that much has faded. What remains is a gap where a stone should be, visible only in the changed line of a map and the silence of the ground.
