What is recorded here

Gallán is a one-metre triangular standing stone in a Cork pasture, absent from both the 1842 and 1904 maps. It stands on a north-facing slope, aligned northeast to southwest, small enough to overlook yet distinct enough to resist forgetting. Perhaps it marked a boundary, a burial or a promise made before surveyors arrived.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture, on N-facing slope. Stone (H 1m; 0.8m x 0.25m) is triangular in plan, long axis NE-SW.
