Gallán is a subrectangular standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, rising 0.8m on a north-facing pasture slope. It escaped the 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps, hiding in plain sight among grass and shadow. Its long axis points ENE-WSW, perhaps marking a direction people once walked or watched. The stone does not need a name repeated to be remembered; it waits for boots, breath and attention.
