What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone in County Cork, marked on the 1937 map but absent from earlier surveys, then removed around 1967 without leaving a visible trace. It may have stood as a boundary marker, a memorial, or a local landmark for centuries before disappearing. Its erasure reminds us that many ancient places vanished not through catastrophe but through ordinary human choices made in haste or indifference.
