What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone in County Cork, marked on the 1937 map but absent from earlier surveys, suggesting it either emerged or became visible only later. It has since disappeared without trace, leaving behind a vacancy rather than a ruin. Perhaps people forgot it, perhaps they removed it, or perhaps it resisted being seen by instruments designed to capture what others could be bothered to notice.
