Gallan is a prostrate rectangular stone in West Cork, measuring 3.17 metres long, 0.75 metres wide and 0.6 metre high. It lies in tillage on an east-facing slope, perhaps fallen after people stopped visiting or perhaps set flat when the land changed from ritual ground to working field. Either way, Gallan still marks the slope and waits to be read.
