Not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. In pasture on S-facing slope. Stone (H 1.45m; 1.1m x 0.66m) is rectangular in plan, long axis NE-SW. According to local information, stone was removed and subsequently replaced in original position. Grove White (1905-25, vol. 1, 328; photo. opp. 322) gives measurements as '6 feet high, 3ft 5in by 1ft. 9in. greatest width'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
