What is recorded here

Gallán is a 2.7m standing stone in County Cork pasture, mismarked on the 1842 map but still visible atop its low hillock. It may have guided herds, marked a boundary or witnessed rituals now forgotten. The stone remains straightforward: tall, plain, present.

In pasture, atop low hillock. Stone (H 2.7m; 1.6m x 0.45m) is subrectangular in plan, standing in NE-SW field fence, long axis NE-SW. Marked incorrectly on 1842 OS 6-inch map in adjacent field to W.
