What is recorded here

Gallán was a single standing stone beside the western railway track in County Cork, visible on the 1937 map but absent from earlier surveys. It has vanished without surface trace, perhaps buried, broken or taken during railway work. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial or a local warning, yet even that purpose has faded with it.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. Marked on 1937 OS 6-inch map as single standing stone adjacent to W side of railway line. Removed; no visible surface trace.
