What is recorded here

Galláin is a fallen quartz-veined stone in County Cork pasture, lying twenty-two metres from its standing neighbour. It keeps a rectangular shape that narrows to one end, like a forgotten tool or a broken sentence. The absence of Galláin on older maps does not make it less real; it suggests that visibility belonged to people who knew where to look.

Not marked on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture, c. 22m to WNW of standing stone (10173). Fallen stone (L 1.76m; 0.85m x 0.6m) with quartz veins, rectangular in plan and section and narrowing to one end.
