Mammals and humans both need heat, food and warning. The fulacht fia in Ré Na Ndoirí is a cooking or heating site, not a boundary or a chamber. It stands beside the stone circle in rough grazing, fifty metres northwest, and local information recalls burnt material spreading during reclamation works. No visible trace remains, but the place still distinguishes what people made hot from what they left cold.
