What is recorded here

In pasture, to SW of bog. Partially overgrown grass-covered spread of burnt material (7m N-S). According to local information, formerly circular mound, roughly 1m high, levelled during field fence clearance. Possibly the fulacht fiadh recorded by Bowman (1934, 666) on D. Hickey's land. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
