No visible mound remains, only a shallow rectangular pit with four post holes and charcoal dated to 3700 years before present. Imagine water heated by stones, steam rising beside the Owendoher River, people cooking or cleaning before golf courses covered the land. The fit is not a grand showcase but a kitchen edge, ordinary and old.

A burnt mound was identified during archaeological monitoring at Rathfarnham Golf-Club (Reid 2002, 116-117). It was located to the W of the Owendoher River. It was associated with several stone-filled pits one of which was a probable trough for a fulacht fiadh. Four posts were identified in the corners of this subrectangular pit. A sample of charcoal from the pit produced a date of 3700+_60BP.
