Fulacht fia in Lecarrow (murrisk By.)

Situated on the north-western bank of the modern stream cutting (Pollbrandy on Ordnance Survey maps) 53m NE of MA085-005006- and slightly down- slope from it. No trace of the original stream course survives. Situated on a patch of gently sloping ground. The fulacht fia comprises A thick layer of burnt stone (NE–SW c. 10m, T c. 1m), with charcoal occurring intermittently, is visible in the north-western section face of the deep modern V-shaped cutting. A particularly dense area of burning is visible at centre point. No visible surface trace survives of the mound above ground level. The above description is derived from: New Survey of Clare Island.
