Fulacht fia in Knockskavane

In marshy ground, beside dried-up spring. Barely perceptible mound of burnt material (max. L 10.95m). According to local information, horseshoe-shaped mound levelled c. 1974; opening faced NNE. Probably one of four fulachta fiadh (11289, 11290, 11291) recorded in townland by Bowman (1934, 102). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
