Garragort held a fulacht fia twenty-five yards north of the local fort, but human hands removed its burned stones before memory faded. The loss is not empty because the distance and direction still point toward a place where water boiled and people gathered. Forgetting the exact spot does not undo the shape of the life that used it.

Bowman (1934, 622) recorded a fulacht fiadh 'In James O'Brien's. The burned stones on the surface have been removed. This was about 25 yards north of the fort in Mr O'Callaghan's' (12490).
