What is recorded here
Fulacht fia in Derrylehan is a fulacht fia in Derrylehan, County Sligo, Ireland. The low, crescent-shaped mound measures about 9 metres from northwest to southeast and 4 metres from northeast to southwest. It stands on the west bank of a shallow north-flowing stream, with a slight boggy depression on the east side probably marking the trough area.
Located on the S margins of an expanse of damp, rush-grown boggy pasture, on the W bank of a small, shallow N-flowing stream. The stream rises 6m to SE of the fulacht fia, at the interface of the wet ground with gently rising drier ground.
This fulacht fia is evident as a low, roughly crescent-shaped, grass-covered mound (c. 9m NW–SE; c. 4m NE–SW; H 0.3m) composed of a concentration of angular stone fragments in black, charcoal-rich soil. The mound may have been disturbed in the past, and its exact original extent is uncertain. A slight boggy depression on the E side, intervening between the mound and the stream probably marks the trough area.
There is a possible burnt mound (SL005-198----) 15m to SW, and a burnt mound (SL005-196----) 120m to NE. A church (SL005-061001-) and graveyard (SL005-061002-) are located 125m to ENE.
