Fulacht fia in Coolnakilly

Situated on a very gentle E facing slope higher up the field than nearby spread of burnt stone (WI025-041---) located 200m to W. Located beside a stream and much of the site would appear to extend southwards into the overgrown and unploughed verge flanking the stream. The site is only exposed in the ploughed area of the field. The exposed area of the site measures 10m E-W x 4m N-S. With the exception of the quartz the burnt stone represented here is similar to the nearby burnt spread (WI025-041---). There is a dense concentration of charcoal visible in the burnt spread material. Date of upload: 23 October 2012
