In a wetland area, on the W side of a road. One of a cluster of six sites (SL040-03002-; SL040-03003-; SL040-03102-; SL040-03103-; SL040-23002-) found during monitoring of the realignment of the N4 road from Hollybrook Estate to Castlebaldwin in the Summer of 1998 (Desmond 1998, 10-11). This fulacht fia was discovered in section under the sod and a thin layer of topsoil and peat. It measured 7.7m in length and consisted of a layer of compact stone within blackened soil (D 0.6m) which tapered to N and S. Underneath this material were seen the ends of two wooden planks (Wth 0.3m; T 0.11m) and three wooden pegs. Following recording the site was covered with geo-textile, peat and topsoil and remains undisturbed. (Desmond 2000, 183-4)
