Fulacht fia in Carrowkeel (tirerrill By., Templevanny Ed) is a fulacht fia in Carrowkeel (tirerrill By., Templevanny Ed), County Sligo, Ireland. It appeared in a road cut as a 4m long mound of compact stone set in blackened soil 0.5m deep. The site stands in a wetland cluster of six places on the west side of the N4 realignment.
In a wetland area, on the W side of a road. One of a cluster of six sites (SL040-030003-; SL040-031002-; SL040-031003-; SL040-230001-; SL040-230002-) found during monitoring of the realignment of the N4 road from Hollybrook Estate to Castlebaldwin in the Summer of 1998 (Desmond 1998, 10). This possible fulacht fia was revealed in section by machinery under a layer of recently redeposited peat on the W side of the road. It measured 4m in length, consisted of compact stone within a blackened soil (D 0.5m) and had a slightly domed appearance. Some of the mound material had been removed by machinery prior to inspection. Following recording the site was covered with geo-textile, peat and topsoil and remains undisturbed. There is another possible fulacht fia (SL040-030003-) 4m to E and a possible enclosure (SL040-030001-) c. 50m to N. (Desmond 2000, 183-4)
