Monitoring of top soil stripping in 2005 (Excavation Licence 05E0406, 'area 4') uncovered a burnt spread. Only a portion of this was excavated (6.5m east–west; D 0.18m) and the rest was preserved in situ. (McLoughlin 2008, 413-4)
