What is recorded here

Now the friary is gone. A flat stone, a broken window edge and a low bank remain inside the old wall. People still call the place a friary because the shape and the memory agree. What is missing has not stopped the site from speaking.

Davies (1948, 78-9) noted some banks which possibly marked the foundations of the friary. He also recorded portion of a 15th-century cusped ogee window, a bullaun and a piece of flanged gable-coping at the site. In addition, he noted the tradition of an 'unassuming Mass-house' which was in existence as late as 1800 and lay within the enclosure (CV015-010001-) which surrounds the site of the friary.
