Fowey Rose

Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Fowey Rose as Wreck from the Modern period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Fowey Rose was a 17th-century English merchant ship that sank in 1635 near St. Nicholas Cathedral in the Isles of Scilly. The wreck was rediscovered in 1972 and is notable for being one of the best-preserved 17th-century shipwrecks in the world, with a significant portion of its cargo of Spanish wine still intact.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
