Gateway, extant 1841, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of lichen-spotted rusticated sandstone ashlar piers on moulded cushion courses on plinths having "Cyma Recta"- or "Cyma Reversa"-detailed cornice capping on blind friezes on entablatures. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Fort William.
A gateway making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Fort William estate.
