This black commemorative plaque records: Preservation of Forge Mill Forge Mill was acquired by District Council in 1962 and an industrial museum was created by the combined efforts of Redditch Development Corporation, Redditch Borough Council and Redditch Amenity Trust. During the period from 1962 to 1983 the Forge Mill Group maintained the equipment on a voluntary basis thus ensuring it's preservation. The availability of the original equipment is solely due to the dedication of the Forge Mill Group and their founder J. G. Rollins Esquire. Forge Mill, preserved through the efforts of local authorities and volunteers led by J. G. Rollins, serves as a significant industrial museum showcasing the heritage of Redditch's manufacturing history.
