What is recorded here
Ford in Unknown Townland is a ford in County Dublin, Ireland. Perhaps the River Liffey ran shallow there, forcing carts and riders to wade while watching for submerged stones. Maybe the water tasted of silt and life, demanding respect from every creature that crossed.
The Friends of Medieval Dublin Map (1978) shows a fording point on the River Liffey.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
