What is recorded here
According to Power (1905, 116-7) the Rian Bo Phadraig (TS088-074----) crossed the River Tar along this section of road, however, 'the river here is liable to flooding, especially on the north side; and no doubt it was still more liable thereto anciently. Therefore, we may assume that the entrance to the ford, the ford itself perhaps, and the exit there-from would be liable to variation'. This ford is not precisely located, though it would have been quite close to the path of the Rian Bo Phadraig.
