Forcan Ridge is a sea cliff composed primarily of basalt, formed during the Paleogene period through volcanic activity associated with the North Atlantic Igneous Province. It is notable for its columnar jointing, a result of the rapid cooling of lava flows, and its contribution to the dramatic coastal landscape of the Scottish Highlands.
