Two octagonal fonts still hold water in Balrathboyne, one cut from sandstone in the southwest nave. The smaller basin, barely deep enough for a child’s hand, suggests baptism, practice or memory rather than grand ceremony. Its chamfered panels and flat rim resist easy date or owner, leaving the church to keep both vessels without explaining why.
Two flat-rimmed, octagonal fonts are located in the parish church of Balrathboyne (ME024-001----). That in the SW angle of the nave is a sandstone (dim. 0.54m; H 0.31m) and has a circular basin (diam. 0.44m; D 0.2m) with chamfered under-panels.
