The centre of the design represents the propeller of a Vimy bomber biplane which were constructed until 1919 at the Morgan & Co. factory at Vimy Road (i.e. the land where the current Tescos supermarket is sited).
The 'Fly Past' Monument incorporates a propeller from a Vimy bomber biplane, a type of aircraft produced at the Morgan & Co. factory on Vimy Road until 1919. It commemorates the historical significance of early aviation industry in the area and the site's role in wartime production.
