Kerries East, Kerries West and Knockanush East preserve a long forgotten field system on two rocky reefs because surrounding soil vanished during reclaimations. The larger reef stretches four hundred metres north to south and one hundred sixty metres east to west, while the smaller western reef reaches two hundred seventy metres. Ancient boundaries may have marked pasture, residence or ritual across the Lee Valley, but only the rock refused to be erased.

'Situated on two large areas of rock outcrop in an area of reclaimed land, this system extends over an area measuring approximately 700m N-S by 400m E-W. Again, its location on rocky outcrop has undoubtedly led to its survival despite the reclaimation of surrounding areas. Modern field boundaries have been removed in areas off the outcrops/reefs and remain only as crop marks, the same is true of the older system, which survives as low level remains only on the reefs. The area is dominated by two main low level reefs, one running from the northern end of the site to the south for a length of 400m and extending east-west for 160m.
