What is recorded here
In rough pasture on bog, in an area surrounded by hills except at the S from where Bantry Bay is visible. A series of stones, extending in a general N-S direction and representing a relict stone field boundary, were recorded in this area in January 1992. However, in more recent times during the course of land reclamation this area has been drained and the stones, which were protruding above the surface of the bog have been removed and placed in two heaps near the edge of the bog.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
