Field boundary in Doire An Aonaigh

Field boundary

What is recorded here

Doire An Aonaigh holds a quiet field boundary beneath modern wind-farm plans, marking an old human division in County Cork. The wall may have guided livestock, separated neighbour lands, or followed a seasonal route now forgotten. Its stones still resist the tide of forgetting, waiting for someone to walk the line and remember what the boundary protected.
During Environmental Impact assessments for the proposed Cleanrath Wind Farm in September 2010, January 2011 and December 2015, a number of sites of archaeological potential were noted, including walls that may represent a field boundary.   Compiled by: Anne-Julie Lafaye
