Coolnagoppoge holds a curving stone boundary that dips beneath bog and reappears on a NW-facing slope above the Sheen River. Faint cultivation ridges beside it suggest people farmed this hard hillplace before the bog took the wall back. The nearby rath and hidden length of wall make the field feel less like a border and more like a living edge, drawing human life up from the valley and then swallowing it again.

In rough hill pasture, on a NW-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. The remains of a curvilinear stone wall (T 0.5m; H 0.3m) protrude above the surface of the bog and extend to the SW for c. 25m where it runs into bog for c. 15m. From here it reappears intermittently for c. 50m and then curves to the SE for c. 50m. Faint traces of cultivation ridges (Wth 3.2m) are evident to the N of the wall. There is a rath (KE102-011----) in the immediate vicinity to the NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
