Fiddown Bridge spans the River Suir with fourteen concrete arches built in 1983 around the surviving stone bones of an earlier crossing. The Malcomson family financed the work to link their industrial village at Portlaw with the new Fiddown station, turning a river obstacle into a ribbon of trade and memory. Its limestone piers still touch the water where carts, trains and lives once crossed, preserving a dramatic horizontal line across the county landscape.
