Ferry Nab is a coastal headland composed primarily of Ordovician volcanic and sedimentary rocks, formed around 470–450 million years ago through volcanic activity and subsequent marine deposition. It is notable for its resistant rock formations that have withstood coastal erosion, contributing to the dramatic landscape of the Furness coast.
