What is recorded here
Detached four-bay single-storey farm house, built c.1860, abutted by two-storey outbuilding to north and single-storey outbuilding to south. Pitched thatched, corrugated-iron and tiled roofs with brick chimneystacks. Roughcast-rendered walls. Timber sash windows with painted sills. Timber battened doors. Single-storey outbuilding to south of yard. Site is set back from the road and is bounded by rendered walls with cast-iron gates.
This inhabited farmhouse is a fine example of local traditional building technology. The incorporation of thatch, corrugated-iron and asbestos cement tiles reflects the development and usage of roofing materials that has occurred over the past century.
