What is recorded here

Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse, extant 1903, on a rectangular plan with single-bay two-storey side elevations. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, paired rendered central chimney stacks having stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta tapered pots, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on rendered eaves retaining cast-iron downpipes. Roughcast walls on rendered plinth with rusticated rendered quoins to corners supporting rendered band to eaves. Segmental-headed central door opening with threshold, and rendered "bas-relief" surround framing timber panelled door having fanlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing eight-over-eight timber sash windows. Set in landscaped grounds with roughcast-panelled rendered piers to perimeter having precast concrete capping supporting "Fleur-de-Lys"-detailed wrought iron double gates.
A farmhouse representing an integral component of the nineteenth-century domestic built heritage of Taghmon with the architectural value of the composition, one rooted firmly in the prevailing late Georgian fashion, suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form centred on a restrained doorcase showing a simple radial fanlight; and the very slight diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a feint graduated visual impression. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, both to the exterior and allegedly to the interior, thus upholding the character or integrity of the composition. Furthermore, adjacent outbuildings (extant 1903) continue to contribute positively to the group and setting values of a neat self-contained ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene.
