Fanlobbur Church (in Ruins)

In centre of graveyard (108-02702-) sod-covered foundations of parish church (L c.26.5m, Wth c.9.5m). Door position near W end of S wall can be made out (one jamb stone in position). The interior is divided in half by a low bank similar to the sod-covered side walls. The church was in repair in 1610 but by 1699 'about half is ruinous' (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 98-9). In 1837 the ruins contained a "circular-headed window" (Lewis 1837, vol. I, 612). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
