On top of a natural rise in undulating countryside. Circular area (diam 25m E-W) enclosed by stone wall (T 2m; ext. H 0.6m; int. H 0.3m) with external berm (Wth 5m; ext. H 1m) defined by a scarp with possible entrance gap (Wth 2.5m) at E. A lot of stone and natural bedrock protrudes from surface of interior. Dense overgrowth makes examination difficult. Cashel like appearance of enclosing wall around sites interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
