Nobody knows when the stones first stood or who stacked them, but the cashel still holds its shape on the ridge above the Eanty Valley. Its broken wall, narrow in places and wide in others, suggests rooms hidden inside the stone rather than one empty circle. The fairies may have taken the roof and the doors, leaving behind a place where human life still echoes in the shape of the wall.

On high ground overlooking the Eanty Valley to N, with land sloping steeply from WNW to NE. In rough pasture within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-032001-). Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. This poorly preserved subcircular cashel (20m N–S; 18.1m E–W) is defined by a stone wall (Wth c. 1.4m; max. H 0.8m) which is visible from NNE to E, with sections of the outer wall-face intermittently visible from WNW to E. At one point along the NE–SE arc of the wall it appears to be narrower (Wth 1m); this may be a remnant of a possible wall parapet (Wth 1m) or rebuilding. Elsewhere the perimeter is defined by a moss-covered stone spread (Wth 2.5–5m). There are four breaks in the wall along the NE–SE arc, some of which may be apertures in the outer wall-face into cells or cavities (Wth 0.9m; D. 0.7m) within the wall. There is a possible entrance (Wth 0.7m) at E, with its N side traceable by a straight-edged E–W line of stonework (H 0.8m) extending through the wall. A modern drystone wall (H 1m) is built over the cashel wall spread from SE to WNW. This cashel was already ‘in parts nearly levelled’ when visited by Westropp (1898).
