Red cow fortress on a gentle slope above Tralee Bay, its oval chamber twenty-one metres across and its wall reduced to a shallow band of stones. Two blocked openings still mark the entrance to an underground passage, while a small horseshoe depression remains in the floor. The name suggests a red cow, but the passage suggests people who wanted hidden room when storms or enemies came.

Internal diam. 21m E-W, c. 22.8m N-S Lissadavdarrig/Lios an Daimh Deirg: Situated on a very gentle N facing slope about 265m from the S shore of Tralee Bay. The cashel wall which enclosed the roughly oval interior is now reduced to a band of debris in which some few stretches of the inner and outer face are visible. The inner face is generally no more than a single course high. An average of 2 to 3 courses of the outer face are visible at the top of the mound of collapse, but there is a possibility that this represents later rebuilding and not the original wall. The wall width indicated by the present remains is only 1.2m. An ill-defined gap at S may mark the location of the entrance. The only features in the interior are a small horseshoe-shaped depression, .25m deep, and 2 blocked-up openings which formerly provided access to a Man-made underground passage (local information).
