Fairy forts in Glennameade are not fantasy; they are old human shelters that became fairy forts only after people stopped remembering their own names. The D-shaped bank at the ridge end is what remains of a circular enclosure large enough for a small household, animals and ordinary life. Its shape changed because fields, tools and forgetting cut through time the same way fire cuts wood.

In pasture, at N end of ridge. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1841 OS 6-inch map, has been partially levelled. Now evident as D-shaped area (30.6m N-S; 21.7m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.95m) W->E. Bank grades to a scarped edge (H 1.2m; Wth 5.2m) NNW->NE.
