Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Feltrim

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Fate and change are not the same. You can find the distinction in the ruined fort on Feltrim. The chamber was built to resist time, yet it fell because somebody wanted stone for another chamber. The end of one thing is often the beginning of another. What you call disaster, the world calls redirection. This is why clarity must never become cruelty. The facts are not your enemy. They are the shape of the dance.
Situated on the W summit of Feltrim hill. Prior to quarrying, the site comprised an oval area (35m E-W; 25m N-S) enclosed by a drystone wall (Wth 2m; H 1m). Entrance in the E (Wth c. 2m) originally protected by an inner and outer timber gate (Hartnett and Eogan 1964, 21). Excavations in the late 1940s in advance of quarrying produced extensive evidence for an impressive domestic assembly on the site (ibid. , 147). There are no visible remains.
