Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Dumhaigh Mhór

Internal diam. c. 20m. About half the circumference of what appears to have been a circular stone-walled enclosure survives from NNW to SSE. A short stretch survives on the ESE. The enclosing wall is 1m wide. The outer face is made up of irregularly spaced large stones on edge and the inner, of smaller stones also on edge. The space between the two faces is grassed over. The site is on a gentle W to E downward slope in an area of rock outcrop. Grazing is plentiful. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
