Doonan Fort in Drumlackagh has vanished except for two ruined stone walls and a rock face that may have formed a small enclosure. O. Davies called it a children's burial ground, a claim that still chills the blood because maps and memory agree the place existed even though the fort itself has surrendered to bushes and time.

The three editions of the OS 6-inch maps record 'Doonan Fort' here and O. Davies recorded a 'children's burial ground' at the same site. There is no trace of the 'Fort'. Two very ruined walls, both about 10m long, and at right angles, form a S and W side of what may have been a small enclosure. A face of rock on the N side may have served as a third side. The site is a mound of rock, uneven on top and much overgrown by trees and bushes set in undulating land suitable for grazing. A 'Fort' here would almost certainly have been stone built.
